The trailer for the new 'John Wick' entry: 'Ballerina' has been released

The first trailer for *Ballerina*, the highly-anticipated *John Wick* spin-off, has been released, offering a glimpse of Ana de Armas in action.

Titled *From the World of John Wick: Ballerina*, this new installment in the *John Wick* universe stars de Armas as Eve Macarro, a character who is just beginning her training in the deadly assassin traditions of the Ruska Roma.

The trailer reveals that Eve is on a mission of vengeance, seeking justice for the murder of her father. Along the way, she'll encounter some familiar faces from the *John Wick* franchise, including the legendary assassin himself, known as Baba Yaga.

In a key moment from the trailer, Eve seeks out John Wick for advice. "You're him, the one they call Baba Yaga. How do I start doing what you do?" she asks. John’s cryptic reply: "Looks like you already have."

*Ballerina* was initially slated for release in June 2024 but has since been pushed back by a year, with its new release date set for June 6, 2025.

The spin-off is directed by Len Wiseman, best known for *Underworld*, with *John Wick* director Chad Stahelski returning to helm additional action sequences during reshoots earlier this year.

The script was penned by *John Wick: Chapter 3* and *Chapter 4* co-writer Shay Hatten, alongside *Promising Young Woman*’s Emerald Fennell and Michael Finch. 

Set between the events of the third and fourth *John Wick* films, *Ballerina* will also see the return of Ian McShane as Winston and Lance Reddick as Charon, marking one of Reddick's final performances following his untimely passing.
